 BIRTHDAY TIDINGS TO THE MAN IN GREEN

Is that the way they describe the Army fellows anymore? The Marines were always the "Man in Blue", as if from some movie or something.

No matter what they call you, I call you "SIR" for protecting your family, your extended family, and, for that matter, the entire free world. ( I know, you are not "sir", you earned your stripes.)

 what a day!

I spent the whole work day today at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, where Grandpa worked. We toured the Acadamy, the Logistics Center, CAMI, and a couple other divisions I would have to look at my notes to remember. It really was cool and I learned a ton! One of which is that they supply all the parts and service for all the airports in the country from the landing lights to the sattalites and everything inbetween. They provide the same service to the Customs and Border Patrol. It is quite the operation.

My favorite part though was CAMI..the medical divison, the people who certify pilots health etc. We saw the decompression chamber where they take pilots up to a 18,000 feet and drop them to 8,000...and the swimming pool where they teach water escapes, and the seat slidy thing that travels very fast and slams dummies out of the seats when stopped very fast. THEN, we got to go into a plane and get "smoked". Scary stuff! It is so easy to see how people would not make it out of a burning plane, even if given time. I will be MUCH more attentive about exits on any plane I am flying!

Anyway, good day...

 I am not sure I like the idea...

Of going for counseling every 5 years after the age of 65 to see if I can live another 5 or not, if it isn't cost effective...

 One Hurray to Pelosi . . . That Is Almost Sacrilege

Today House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, advised those who are drafting the new "health care system" to change the numbers.

Good for her. The change will be to tax, as a surcharge, health care expenses, including insurance, so that only people with $500,000.00 incomes, and couples with more than $1,000,000.00 incomes, will be charged.

This is 1/2 the original proposal.

NOW, if we could just get her to dump the whole thing, I would be ecstatic, as would 99% of the rest of the nation.

 Class Act By a Young Boy . . . Too Bad He Had To

For those who have not been following the story on TV today, one event is even being reviewed more than the tax plan. health plan, etc.

Over the week-end, a boy, looked about 12,  I was in the lawyer's office so the sound was off, sold ALL his toys to help his family which, thanks in good  part to the so-called "STIMULUS" package that pretty much agrees is a total flop, got both mom and dad lose their jobs where each had worked for at least 10 years. One closed, the other is now manufacturing its products and are moving their principle offices to Mexico, INCLUDING their previously US banked, US dollars into Mexican backs.

OKAY!! I have been around long enough to recall, even up to this recession, down sizing, whatever you want to call it, no one would ever put their money anywhere near a Mexican bank.

How far is this going to go before those who govern us take a serious look, from the standpoint of professionals who know, (whose advice to date has been totally ignored) and move in a direction that stops million dollar bonus payment s to those who, only a year ago, needed government money to stay afloat.

Granted, they have paid the Treasury back the money, but, look at the reason why!!!!! As long as they had money owed to the government, they had salary caps. Given the time to reorganize, dump bad loans on the American public, and allowed to purchase only the good assets of failing banks, they are now building an even bigger financial system, with less oversight than the old ones had.

And of course, we did learn our lesson in the aftermath.Those same executives who caused the collapse are getting multi-million bonus payments. Way to Obama, reward the STUPID, and let the rest of the nation go without.

The only good news is that Obama's ranking are trashing, week by week. Too bad we can't have another election THIS November.

Looking up at the moon and being disappointed that I couldn't see them.  (I was only 7 years old.)

As you all SHOULD know today...if you are keeping up with news and/or historical events, this is the 40th anniversary of the moon-landing.

Grandpa and Grandma and Jimmy (I think) and I, were driving back from Tulsa. The only reason I can think we were doing that was that we had just dropped Ann off at TU for school. Anyway, because Grandpa really really wanted to watch the landing, we stopped 1/2 way back at a hotel and rented a room so we could watch it. Remember that was back in the days when most tv's were black and white, and restuarants did not have them hanging from the ceilings and we wouldn't have had a BB or cell phone with internet capabilities :) I don't know what hotel we stopped at or in what town...but I remember sitting on the edge of the bed watching the moon landing!

 Get ready...

TAXING THE TOP 1 PERCENT OF U.S. EARNERS ANOTHER 5.5 percent!!!!! Because it they have been able to get away with not carrying their share for too long????!!!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! The portion of the earning community that is actually employing people and contributing about 80% of the charitable dollars to Universities, ALL agencies that assist the poor (they want to tax charitable donations too by the way, over a certain amount, which certainly these guys give). ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!???? All to pay for a healthcare system that is FAILING in Canada, FAILING in England, FAILING in every other country that has one like it...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!????

So...as an example...Tony, Blaize, Brianna, JJ..whoever...works really, really hard, maybe even with some learning disabilities or come down with some sort of illness that requires a year off school...and come the end of their senior year they are carrying a 4.00 grade point.. The principal gathers them and all other over-achievers in the office and tells them he appreciates all their hard work, but George and Susan and etc. etc...they missed some school days, they didn't turn in some work and one had a sick mom and etc. etc..so he is going to give some of their grades to these guys so that they can have a better grade point and graduate from HS...after all, we should all be equal.

I am SO angry...SO concerned for the future of this country under the current leadership. If we don't do something in the next two elections, the future of your children, our grandchildren truly is in jeopardy.

And the healthcare bill he wants JAMMED through in the next two weeks, that was only written in the last two weeks...ask YOUR Representative, Senator if they have read the WHOLE thing...ask them to provide YOU with a copy so you can read the WHOLE thing prior to it being voted on...

Transparancy...my &*^& (sorry..I am so angry...so VERY angry...)

 We think it is gross

Michelle was telling a story in the car that involved the spelling of the word s-e-x, from the back seat tony says, " s-e-x, I know what that is!" Petrified, I say what is it. He says, dad, not in front of Leo. Later after being isolated, I begun my interrogation. I say, what is it. He says, its sex. Some older boys wrote it on the bathroom and we, the younger school grades, thinks it gross!  Then I say what is it, and he replies its kissing naked! And I say what else, to which he says that it, its just gross! So after briefing Michelle I gave a huge sigh, and realized we still had a little more time before we have to have the talk!
