 Tonight is the night...

Saturday, July 18, 2009

And I am pooped. I started about 7:30 this morning, Steve and the rest of the guys started about 10 or so. The yard looks a TON better, though not completely cleaned up. Several areas that there is just too much 'stuff' to move out of the way will be roped off.

We got 2 trailer loads of molds dumped, the area in front of the garage cleaned up, the patio cleaned (again).

There will be multiple people camping, one tent is already up. Should be an interesting evening!

Anthony...you need to cut and paste the S-E-X story here!!!

How Can You Not Love This?

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Turn your speakers way, way up. Turn the YouTube volume way, way up as soon as the performance begins. You will likely not hear the first 40 seconds or so, but listen carefully as an African rain storm begins and ends.

At the two minute mark, get set to turn your volume down. I was able to just use the YouTube volume control alone.

Listen as Perpetuum Jazzile performs its adaptation of 'Africa'

Life is BEAUTIFUL!!!

 Here it is 6 am...

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Got awake at 5 am, couldn't go back to sleep. Ran to get a coffee and donut (too lazy to make a pot), now am catching up on emails, Fb, then up to the pouring room Nice and cool outside, so I will enjoy that while it lasts!

By 2 this afternoon, I will probably be worthless!

Anyway coming to the Jam and Wail next weekend? Let me know. Should be a fun time, about 50 for the most part, stranger people to you all, but incredibly nice people, many who have helped the Paradise family out over the years! Bring chairs, bug spray, your choice of beverages and a guitar or keyboard if you have it, All can be hooked up to amps etc.

 Great pictures!

Saturday, July 11, 2009

I loved the ones of Leo waiting for his surgury, poor guy. The ones sleeping in the airport really portrayed your 'adventure' in a very real way! YUK!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, please check in on Sunday night (might be a good habit, just set aside a 5 min time on a Sunday evening and recap your week here! no fuss, no muss! :) )

Out ot unload the trailer! See you all later!

 Pictures

Friday, July 10, 2009

Ok, I just added some more pictures.  Some from our 4th of July Spectacular here on post and a few others.  As for plans for August I will be back to work by then and the boy wil be starting there new school.  So we will be pretty busy.  Other than that not much going on here.

 Yea!

Friday, July 10, 2009

Michelle posted pictures on the webpage! Now she didn't write anything, but we'll take what we can get .

Another reminder from pesky mom..come back here and keep us updated on what you did for the fourth (even though we pretty much know), and what you are planning for August!

I know for us, next weekend is the big Jam and Wail get together that Steve Jones and Ron Black are hosting in our back yard. They expect about 50 people. I have no clue how it will go..we are providng the yard, hoses and bathrooms..the rest is up to them, except I need to help clean up.

August is busy, busy. Dad has two shows possible, one in Collinsville, IL, the other in Milwaukie. I have two briefings, a 3 day down in Ft. Worth for Medicare and a 4 day in San Diego for USCIS. I am hoping Dad can join me in San Diego as his shows will be done by then. If we can get a cheap flight he can fly in and meet me there and San Diego is typically a cheap flight destination.

Then September is here! Wow...almost Christmas...

You sound like you are ready to join the revolution!

I keep hearing there is going to be one...it is just a matter of timing...

Can't disagree with anything you said. But 'they' are intent on taking more of our money, not giving any back, so I think we are out of luck for awhile...

THIS IS WHY THERE SHOULD NOT BE A "DEATH" TAX

Monday, July 06, 2009

I don't care what you think about Michael Jackson. The fact that it has pushed very important world information from the airways is disconcerting, but I have no doubt, had John Lennon's death been in this time of instant communication, the same would be true. (Although, never would I dream of putting those two in the same stratosphere.)

Family members, rightly so, are very distraught over the fact that, but for the first $3,000,000.00, Jackson's estate will owe the IRS 45% of its total. Given the complexity and unique character of his estate, that number may not be known for years.

Word has it that the IRS has already sent a letter of intent or something like that to the family and their attorney, immediate payment will not be required, there will be permissible delays that could extend for 10 years, but no more.

Like many in his business, liquid assets are minimal. This is particularly true here since the main asset is his 50% interest in a multi-author "catalog" including, among many, the Beatles.

Many of these superstars are in the same situation, they are worth more dead than alive. Thus the warranted delay in payment. His income will be ongoing, from which the taxes will be paid, AFTER of course, the income tax on those earnings is paid. So, in the end, the net income from most of his assets will be taxed, one way or another, at almost 50%.

And, what of the farmer, having built his estate with faith and ambition? They too in many cases now have more than the $3,000,000.00, all of which they paid income taxes throughout the years. They have no liquid assets either, so, in their case, the only practical thing to do is "sell the farm."

WHEN IS ENOUGH, ENOUGH? NOW!!!!
