 Okay...

Thursday, May 27, 2010

now that it's working, I need to re-type my update.  Problem is, I can't remember what I said.  Sad, sad...

I can remember typing "Yay!" for the fact that we are back online.  We weren't there for a while.  And mentioning that everyone else needs to update now.  Also that I'm getting ready to take the last National Board Tests tomorrow.  Then I just wait until November to see if I passed or if I have to do it all over again next year.

That's all I remember, so anything else will just have to wait.  :D

I tried to post a minute ago and it said there was a database error.  So I'll try again to see if it's working before I re-type the whole thing.

 Mothers Day rememberance

Sunday, May 09, 2010

Wow, it has been a long time since I have written here...or anyone for that matter, 'cept Michelle...good for you!! We MUST do better....

This Mothers day, my mother would have been 98 years old. What a life she led and what a complicated woman she was. I honor her memory today as I reflect on what she taught me, either on purpose, or how she led her life. I have many, many happy memories of spending time with her. As a child, a teenager and as an adult with children of my own. As I have indicated previously, she taught me to laugh..to enjoy small things, to appreciate the beauty of a full moon, or a beautiful sunrise (Marcie takes the honors for teaching me the value of a 'wonderful stand of corn" ::) ). Mommy was introspective, insecure, in many ways, born way before her personality fit into society. She was an awesome hostess, though nearly went into a complete breakdown before each event. Was obviously was a terrific wife evidenced by the devotion Daddy had for her. She did love him with her whole being, unfortunately never felt she was good enough for him despite his repeated utterances that she was perfect.

All of her children caused her great pain at one time or the other. More a product of how society was changing at the time, then a reflection on her parenting, but she took it very personally and for that I am so sorry that I was part of the grief she went through. I am not sorry for what I did, as I feel it was clearly all meant to be (I wouldn't have a terrifice daughter to brag on now, if it weren't!), but I am sorry it took such a toll on my mother.

I hope that with all the various stages of life that you children have gone through, that your decisions, whatever they were , I have been able to keep them as YOUR decisions and not a reflection on how you felt about Dad or myself. Not to say we did not make parenting mistakes..clearly I did...I remember them well and I hope that all of you will forgive me, but more importantly learn from them. And I think that is what I am saying about my own mother...she didn't make mistakes so much in raising her children...in fact I think she did a pretty darn good job...I think I learned more from what she didn't do then from what she did. I learned to persevere through tough times, I learned that what others do are not a reflection on me, I learned to love unconditionally, even when the individual is not wanting to acceptt that love. And...her greatest gift, in my mind is her laugher. In spite of her struggles with lifes setbbacks, she had the ability to see the humor in the oddest things..and her laughter was so contagious. I am just sorry her grandchildren could not have experienced that. I hope  am a good example and can pass it on.

To all my 'mothers' out there...I cannot express deeply enough how much I love you all. Your love and devotion to my grandchildren is evident for all to see. I could not ask for any better influences on the next generation as they grow to be responsible, successful members of this great nation.

Happy Mothers Day!! I would encourage all of you to post your favorite memory of Grandma for all to see...

 What a nice weekend

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Started out yesterday morning bottling paints and will do so again in a few minutes. Dad is working on pouring molds and got alot of little stuff done yesterday.

Then at 3 we all stopped and went down to the Arts Festival and met up with Christie, Jchon and JJ, Daniel and Elijah! Spent a great couple of hours walking around the wonderful vendors this year and then a nice lunch together. Memories created...my favorite will be strolling the inside of the food area holding a crying Elihja singing "You are My Sunshine" quietly trying to calm him down...I think it eventually worked..or he just got tired crying (for those of you who have heard me sing...) Then we stopped at a few more booths and parted ways as Jchon needed to get the boys to bed and Christie needed to get home to get to bed early so they ALL could get up and be at the kids marathon this am. I am hoping they will both post stories and pics about the the first marathon they get back home!

Dad will post pictures of some beautiful functional pottery we purchased. We can only afford the smaller stuff, mugs, bowls, but we do get things we can use...They had some very talented people this year. AND...the wood guy was back!!!  I got another kitched utensil from him!

Am heading next door now and will finish up colors, then start to stage boxes for packing the rest of the day. William will be doing some grass cutting I believe...

That is our weekend...tell us about yours!

15 years - How Timothy Mcveigh Sescribes the Bombing

Monday, April 19, 2010

In never before released tapes, there are a tota of 45 hours that have been edited and a special aired on MSNBC tonight. No one should ignore it.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/36640839#36640839

is a sample. The question is, where have these tapes been?

I was far too close to having been in the Federal Courthouse at 9:00 am that dreadful day.

Only the intervention of an event that could never have been forseen kept me from that appointment. To this day, I look back on that day and know someone or something kept me home.

 15 years....

Monday, April 19, 2010

It seems like yesterday....15 years is a long time. The children would be graduatiing, or in high school, some would already be in college. Weddings would have taken place, children and grandchildren would have been born.

The names are still names I recognize...the faces still look familiar.

Please...at 9:02, the moment the devil parked that yellow truck, pray for 168 victims and their families and for those that survived and have had to come to grips with the horrific event that changed their lives forever.

I am very proud of our city. Proud that we have developed and maintained a memorial that reflects the hearts and souls of those we lost. It is a beautiful and peaceful and honorable place for remembering that life is so precious and we need to tell our family that we love them EVERY day...

You...ALL my family and especially my best friend and love of my life...I love you deeply and I am honored to be a part of your lives.
