Quote of the Day
I do not say a proverb is amiss when aptly and reasonably applied, but to be forever discharging them, right or wrong, hit or
miss, renders conversation insipid and vulgar.

| Monday, March 15, 2010 | I think it was a good first try. As for Brianna, I told you I would LOVE for her to come and visit us here. Once we figure out deployment dates maybe we can figure a way to get her here. | | | Posted by: Michelle at 11:14:37 AM |

looks worse scanned than in person!
| Monday, March 15, 2010 | I NEVER said I was an artist.....and you have to start somewhere...I just won't show this to any teacher/seminar I go to,...they would immediately eject me from the class!
Today, the Ides of March...Vincent and Joey are staying with us for the week. I will return them to the care of Ben on Sunday evening. Monica and Brianna are in Kentucky (would love to send her to someone's home this summer for 3-4 weeks???)
Anyway, the are to wait until Grandpa gets up and around and get their instruction for outside chores. Jake and Hannah are next door and may or may not supervise. In the meantime, they have been instructed to get up and get themselves their breakfast and I got a couple movies for them to watch...they brought video games with them, but I am going to try and keep that to a minimum...outside it the game for this week!
Bubba kitty goes to the vet on Wednesday...William thinks she is not acting right. The previous relative of Bubba is covering the costs of this visit, thank goodness!
OK, back to work...NOT painting, for which I am sure you are all very thankful! | | | Posted by: Mom___ at 10:59:05 AM |

This Is How A "Before and After" Starts
| Sunday, March 14, 2010 | This is the before . . . before mom learned about "depth" in two dimensional art . . . before she learned that buildings, like the gas station in front, has walls that usually go straight down instead of looking like a plane ready to take off . . . before she learned that a "round barn" is more than 3 circles that are on top of each other . . . I think . . . the bridge looks like a good start . . . BUT . . . this is her first time using Fashenhues on something other than bisque . . . In fact, it may be the first time she has ever drawn anything . . .

Now . . . For the good news . . .
She has nowhere to go but up . . . not with the gas station airplane though . . .
S0 . . . After

Conversations from the classroom
| Thursday, March 11, 2010 | Student: Miss P., do we have to read this? (Pointing to a paragraph on a test.)
Me: What do you think?
Student: I dunno.
Me: Would they have put something on the test they didn't want you to read?
Student: Well, it could just be directions. | | | Posted by: Teacher___ (Christie) at 2:23:18 PM |

Thank you!
| Sunday, March 07, 2010 | Michelle and Anthony for posted "back seat conversations" (and others)...and for the pictures Christie!! Good stuff.
Christie, my favorite (still) is the picture of the books that you didn't like the lighting. It has such a calm, warm feeling to it...one of those that just draws you in. Point being...what you see is maybe not what others see :) That is one I really would like to make into a framed wall piece. When we can come up with a cutter, you'll have to come up here and sort through the hundreds of colors and patterns to find the right fit! :)
My Sunday today will be like most..I am heading next door to pour more paint. I don't mind at all...I turn on the tv and just bottle away. It isn't hard work, i just don't get anything else done around the house!
And I still LOVE my electric kitty litter pan! I think once we pull the carpet (previous owners had dogs, not house trained apparently) I think we can rid the house of the 'animal smell'..William got an electric litter pan for his Bubba kitty too, so we are a litter pan free house! Sure makes going into the bathroom a nicer experience!
Ok...time for paints!! Everyone have a great Sunday...give all the kids hugs from Grandma and Grandpa and talk to you all later! | | | Posted by: mom___ at 8:21:10 AM |

Conversation while babysitting
| Saturday, March 06, 2010 | I was watching an adorable 4 year old boy today. He is over playing with the legos set that has lots of little lego men and women. He walks up to me holding one of these tiny little lego men and says" look Ms. Michelle he looks fly for a white guy" That comment all by itself had me cracking up, the funniest part was that he was holding a little tiny black lego man. I was rolling. | | | Posted by: MIchelle at 3:03:02 AM |

Okay...
| Friday, March 05, 2010 | I still can't get to the server, so I posted days 2, 3 and 4 to the my gallery tonight. For some reason, it thinks Day 2 needs to be at the top, but hey...at least they are there.
I guess I'll just post them there until Jchon can tell me how to get them to post here without going to the server.
I'll post Days 5, 6 and 7 tomorrow. I hope! | | | Posted by: Photographer___ (Christie) at 11:09:23 PM |
