I do not say a proverb is amiss when aptly and reasonably applied, but to be forever discharging them, right or wrong, hit or
miss, renders conversation insipid and vulgar.
Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616)
A quick I love you to everyone! Must get going soon, but a stop in to say I hope you all have a wonderful day.
I won't get all mushy about my Valentine simply because I don't have time right now, but suffice it to say, I couldn't have ever guessed that I would have been blessed with a life partner that is so precious and awesome. A LOT of life's 'little' happenings had to take place in order for us to meet at a little University in Oklahoma City...clearly we were meant to be...and I am VERY greatful!
Much love to my dear husband and I am looking forward to our 50th (and beyond) Valentines!
Now..off to pour paints!! 19 colors to be done today!

Mom Has A Faulty Calendar!!
Saturday, February 13, 2010
Yes, we will be very busy over the next many weeks, however, there is a little bit more time between things than mom's mind is giving her.
February 19th and 20th: Mom and I teaching in Houston. About 15 people each day. Learners on Friday, experienced on Saturday;
NOTHING IN MARCH!!
April 9th, 10th & 11th - Dayton Show, I am teaching 6 classes, Mom is running 2 booths;
April 27th: Set Up for Mesquite Show;
April 28th: Teach a class of ???? Or what??? in Denton.
This is a group of ladies, I think most if not all are from the Senior Center where the class is, who initially wanted to have each lady (15 + or -) work on their own project while mom and I did ???? I have no idea. That one got knocked down in a hurry.
Next, I have been told these ladies are all "experts", so I provided my typical experienced artist sample list expecting them to choose one. WRONG!
They would agree to all do the same project, but they would choose their own piece, pour all the bisque on their own and we would teach based on that piece. Advantage: I don't have to pour, clean or fire anything. Disadvantage:
They "think" they are going to do a "Cardinal" and "Blue Jay" from a mold that hasn't been made in 20 years. I know. I have tried to look for it everywhere on the Internet and through groups, all to no avail.
A photo of this piece, either in bisque or finished, would be nice, however, it looks like the first time we will see it is when the sponsor takes the Houston class.
Once I heard the "maybe" of what it is going to be, I did the Google image search so we could start planning for the class. Do you have any idea how many colors of the Blue Bird there are on this planet? LOTS!!! The Cardinal will be comparatively simple, the Blue Bird, not so.
“Necessity is the mother of invention.” I didn't like the colors available in our translucent line to use as the antiquing color for the Cardinal. So, we thought and thought, until someone in mom's office came up with Cayenne Pepper. Great name. A lot of variations, but bingo, S-47, the next color in our translucent color line.
So, even though we won't be having quite the stressful time mom thinks we are, there is going to be a great deal of time spent preparing the "tech sheet" for the project, a sort of paint by the numbers kind of thing, doing a working sample, (They are supposed to be providing us with three pieces of bisque.), a finished sample for people to see at the class, and the piece I will be doing at the same time I am teaching the others.
Our division of labor is sort of funny. Mom says she is the better artist, which she is, especially when dealing with glazes, and I am the better teacher. So, I talk the talk, while mom, walks the walk . . . . In other words, I tell them what to do using my class project piece and she walks the floor to help where needed.
I know these ladies "think" they are experts, but in talking to their "leader", it is clear they know the basics, but they are nowhere near the experts they think they are.
April 29th and 30th: Mesquite Show
May on . . . I have no idea.

Guilty myself, so I guess I can't make anyone else feel guilty!!
As usual this Saturday morning, I am drinking my morning coffee, having a nutrigrain bar and getting my head into going to next door to do paints. It is going to be a VERY busy work weekend, as we have to get ready to teach 30 people down in Houston on Friday and Saturday. We are providing all the bisques, so Dad is tied up doing that part and I am getting paints for orders and kits ready. Then two weeks after that we have the Mesquite show and we are teaching a class in Denton that week. (Jchon, Dawn, can we stay at your house that Wednesday night? We are going to set up the booth Wednesday, teach thursday, then the show is Fri/Sat.
Other than that we are not doing much. Nothing going on exciting at work, just same old, same old. Sure wish it would snow 36 inches in DC more often...the whole country would be better off!!
We still have Bubba kitty, but I think they are going to have a permanent home for her in the next couple of weeks. She stays back in Williams room all the time, even when we open the door to let her out. And she does not like anyone but William...
Dad and I had a wonderful dinner at PF Changs last night...it was very good. Our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised! Will go again...of course the real test will be today...how do the leftover heat up?? LOL!
Everyone have a wonderful Valentines weekend...do fun stuff, love each other and remember I love you ALL!!!
And I will repeat, and take poetic license with the remainder.
As adults, our youngest now 30 (OUCH!!!) I repeat, my children are not average, and to carry it one generation further, my grandchildren are not average either.
Dad, who refuses to say, "I told you so . . . . "

I understand now Dad
Wednesday, February 03, 2010
Back in highschool when you would ground me when I got a C on my report card I would get soooooo mad. I remember stomping around saying I shouldn't get grounded C's are average. I don't know if you remeber what you used to say, but it always made me furious. You looked at me and calmly replyed "My childrenn are not average. I would go to my room and think very mean thoughts and be very very grumpy.
Now that I have kidsof my own I completely understand. I have said very nearly those same words to Tony.
So, and apology to you Dad for all the griping and a thank you for never allowing me to get away with working below my abilities.

Hello everyone!
I would like to burn a theme at this forum. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.
For several years , I earn money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and I started with funny 500 bucks.
Right now, I'm very close at catching at last a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my blog to get additional info.

HURRAH FOR FRANK
Tuesday, February 02, 2010
I am taling to Frank as I type and am climbing the wall with PRIDE and HAPPINESS for Frankie.
He has just gotten a new MOS (job) and will be working with soldiers coming back from Iraq and Afganistan on rehab.
He is just extactic!!! He has the "happiest" voice since he came back from Germany!!!! He feels this will finally get him on track for a promotion to E-7, something that was going to all but impossible to get in his current position.
For those of you who are miltary, were military or have been very close to the military understands that Franie has been an E-6, which is comprble to being a Freshman in high school. You move from a position where you were top dog as an E-5, highest in the "non-com" niche.
He has been so UNHAPPY after coming back and has been discriminated against because of his "disability", i.e. limited loss of hearing, (LISTEN YONG PEOPLE, FRANKIE BLASTED HIS RADIO IN HIS CAR FOR YEARS AND NOW HAS PERMANENT HEARING LOSS) and is not "deployable" he cannot be assigned to an overseas unit, making further advancement.
SO HURRAH FOR FRANKIE!!!!!
(I did not proof-read this, so ignore them.)

"The Rack"
Sunday, January 31, 2010
" I cant wait for the rack!"
This phrase was exclaimed by Leo, after I told them the could have a miniture dog, like their friends dog after deployment. Somehow Iraq sounds a lot like the rack to Leo. Also, said, yes, and i get to use dads computer while he is gone! Shoot, and i thought they were going to have trouble with this!
